Step 1: Reset Your TP-Link WiFi Extender
- Find the Reset Button:
- Look for a small reset hole on the extender (usually on the side or bottom).
- Press & Hold the Reset Button:
- Use a paperclip or pin to press and hold the button for 10-15 seconds until the LED blinks.
- The extender will reboot and reset to factory settings.
- Wait for the Extender to Restart:
- This takes about 1-2 minutes.
- The default WiFi name should now be something like “TP-Link_Extender_XXXX” (where XXXX are random numbers/letters).
Step 2: Connect to the Extender’s Default WiFi
- Go to WiFi Settings on Your Phone or Computer.
- Look for the WiFi network starting with “TP-Link_Extender_XXXX” and connect.
- No password is required at this stage (if prompted, try admin or leave it blank).
Step 3: Set Up the Extender Using TP-Link Tether App
- Download & Open the TP-Link Tether App
- If you haven’t already, download the app from:
- Android: Google Play Store
- iPhone: App Store
- If you haven’t already, download the app from:
- Select Your TP-Link Extender from the Device List.
- Follow the On-Screen Instructions:
- Choose your main WiFi network (the router you want to extend).
- Enter your router’s WiFi password (this is the same as your main WiFi).
- Set an extended network name (same as your main WiFi or a new one).
- Save and apply the settings.
Step 4: Reconnect to the WiFi Extender
- Once setup is complete, the extender will restart.
- Reconnect to the extended WiFi using the same password as your main router (or the new one you set).
- Done! Your TP-Link WiFi Extender is now reset and properly configured. 🚀
